Arctic Cat 1000 Repair

We understand the complexities of completing an Arctic Cat 1000 Repair. One of our clients requested we take a look at their atv after not being able to get it started. They also said they believed they had some wiring issues going on and the dashboard showed a code.

The customer spoke to our mechanics, explaining how the unit was running several months ago, but they attempted to use it and could not get it running. They also informed us that last year there was an issue with one of the dual cooling fans, and they had hard wired it into the cigarette charger on board. We never recommend doing this, as it damaged the charger station and burnt a hole through the back of it!

was brought into our shop we began diagnosing. The first step was to check the codes. The unit was flashing a code for a bad O2 sensor, so we replaced that immediately. We went to the fuel system next, and found both plugs were fouled, and the fuel seemed dirty. Our technician drained the fuel, and replaced the spark plugs. After this we were able to get the unit to turn over and run.

Once the atv started to run, the customer opted to do a full service on the machine. This maintenance package included replacing the fuel filter, oil filter, and oil change. Once this was complete we test run the unit again and had it operating like new! After this we tackled the wiring issues. We were able to rewire the 2 cooling fans correctly, and have them operate off of the temperature sensor like they were designed to do. After completing the repairs, we  notified the customer via our online portal and they were back to riding the trails!
