Stihl BR 800X Repairs

Having issues with your backpack blower can be inconvenient! One of our customers dropped off their Stihl BR 800X and informed us it was running poorly and hard to start. They said at times it would feel like the blower did not have much power, and then other times it would surge. We informed them there are several things that can cause this, and we would have to evaluate it further.

One of our mechanics brought the Stihl blower into the shop and put on the table to start to diagnose. After running the blower, it was clear the carburetor had some issues. This explains why the blower was surging with power and then felt like it was running poorly. Fuel was leaking out of the gasket. Furthermore, we found there was a cracked exhaust muffler after taking the blower apart. Our technician advised the customer that they would need a new carburetor and exhaust.

Our client received the estimate via our online Ignition Lawn Mower & Small Engine portal and approved it. We then ordered the new carburetor and exhaust muffler. Our mechanic quickly removed the old carburetor and muffler. Shortly after, the new parts arrived and were installed. The blower was filled with mix gas, and test run several times. It was clear the Stihl blower was running much better now!

Our client was then notified via text and email that their Stihl Blower was ready for pick up. Once they came to pick up their equipment, our technician showed them the repairs, explained what signs to look out for in the future, and the client was thrilled to be able to get their piece of equipment back so quickly!
